{"id":100,"date":"2013-10-23T19:29:01","date_gmt":"2013-10-23T19:29:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ahorseforonebin.co.uk\/?p=100"},"modified":"2013-11-06T11:03:26","modified_gmt":"2013-11-06T11:03:26","slug":"upping-and-downing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ahorseforonebin.co.uk\/?p=100","title":{"rendered":"downing and upping"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>*updated*<\/p>\n<p>A couple of nights ago I migrated another &#8211; very light traffic &#8211; website on to the NAS.<\/p>\n<p>The only reason I did this was to document, in bullet-points, the process.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll post the process on to the Synology Forums, because the step-by-step documentation for the Diskstation is pretty scant (and next to meaningless).<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve just updated phpMyAdmin (being a firm believer in keeping products up to date).<\/p>\n<p>But I think that I&#8217;m just about done with hosting on the NAS.<\/p>\n<p>I think it&#8217;s time to up my game.<\/p>\n<p>My next step is to get the racked servers installed, configured, and get CentOS and some RAID products spread across the hard-disks.<\/p>\n<p>Yep.<\/p>\n<p>Time to up my game.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m going to down the NAS tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Just a simple down.<\/p>\n<p>But I have an eye on that phpMyAdmin upgrade I implemented earlier, and I&#8217;d like to bed it in properly with a cold start.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m just an oldschool Unix nerd, huh?<\/p>\n<p><strong>*update*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So, downing the NAS in an orderly fashion and bringing it back up delivered no discernible difference.<\/p>\n<p>All services successfully restarted themselves, the four websites, php instances, MySQL databases and mailserver profiles all mounted correctly.<\/p>\n<p>CPU is at 2%, RAM is at 30%<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s all a bit anticlimactic really.<\/p>\n<p>But also&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Very good.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>*updated* A couple of nights ago I migrated another &#8211; very light traffic &#8211; website on to the NAS.
